Sleeping in Airports

I have slept only twice in an airport so far. Once it was in LHR as I arrived at around 10 PM and my next flight was at around 6 or 7 AM. I didn’t want to spend money on hotel and transportation only for a few hours of sleep, plus the stress of making it back to the airport.

I might have to sleep again in an airport so a quick Google search brought me to the … ‘Sleeping in Airports’ site.

It has even a list of ‘Best Airports for a snooze (or long transit)”. Here are the winners of the so called 2011 Golden Pillow Award (more details here):Cartoon-style image promoting Singapore Changi Airport as "The Best Airport in the World." The image features a man and a woman relaxing by a pool with palm trees and a control tower in the background. There are directional signs pointing to various amenities such as rest areas, shopping, food, a movie theatre, a nature trail, free Singapore tours, a transit hotel, and "The Slide @ T3." The text "Club Changi" is also visible.

  1. Dublin is good with big leather sofas, but midway sucked, it was cold and no place to sleep

  2. averaging over 20 nights per year, Neither SIN nor HKG deserved to be top spot for the terrible condition in landside.
