Air Berlin Status Match, Free Access to Oneworld Lounges
I had sent an e-mail to service @ topbonus.de asking them whether they would match my Air Canada Super Elite status.
They asked for a copy of the Air Canada status card, I sent it, and they responded:
“If you confirm the statusmatch now, your Gold status will be valid until 30.09.2013 and if you want to confirm the statusmatch later in July your Gold status will be valid until 31.12.2013.”
I waited until July as at that time I didn’t have any plans of traveling to Europe (and I still don’t but who knows) and soon I received the package by mail.
It said: “Take advantage of benefits worth their weight in gold.”
I wonder whether for the Silver Card they say: “Take advantage of benefits worth their weight in silver.” and for the Platinum Card: “Take advantage of benefits worth their weight in platinum.” 🙂
The free access to the oneworld lounges will be a very important benefit for me if I don’t travel Air Canada (Star Alliance).
A warm welcome to the airberlin and oneworld® lounges! For even more comfort whilst traveling, as a Gold or Platinum topbonus member you can have free access to the Business Class and Frequent Flyer Lounges of airberlin and the oneworld airline partners with your airberlin or oneworld boarding pass – regardless of which class you are travelling in!
And what’s this thing with ‘oneworld’ starting with a small letter?! I had to go to the oneworld site to make sure and yes it is like that, however ‘one’ is bolded.
oneworld® has been named the World’s Best Airline Alliance in the 2013 World Airline Awards presented by the independent Skytrax airline quality ratings agency.

Congrats! You can now use the AA Admiral’s Clubs on domestic itineraries!
Thanks for posting this! I sent them an e-mail and will hopefully be matched as well (have a couple of flights with them in the next month or so).
