Don’t survey me without something in exchange 2

I would have not written part 2 (part 1 is here) but related things have happened :
Alt text: A pop-up message on a website with a green header that says "Hello!" and a request to answer a couple of questions about the site. It offers 20 bonus AIR MILES® reward miles for completing and submitting a survey. There are two buttons at the bottom: a green "OK" button and a green "NO, THANKS" button.
It was a survey for an insurance company I collect Aeroplan miles so I had to click on ‘No, thanks’

Also, this is an e-mail I received after I stayed at a Radisson hotel:

Dear ….
We want to know how you feel about your recent stay at the …… where you checked out on …….  What you liked.  What you didn’t.  And how we could have made your stay even more satisfying.  So please take a moment to share your thoughts with us at the link below:
……..
It will only take a few minutes. Your input will help us improve.
Thank you in advance for participating.  And if you’ve already filled out the survey, we thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Look forward to welcoming you back.

Best Regards,

As I did not have Thorsten’s email I sent the link to  Don’t survey me without something in exchange!  to someone else from the management (found his e-mail address on the company’s website) and the answer was: “I have passed this along to the appropriate person. Thank you for your feedback. Enjoy your weekend.”

Let’s see what will happen !

  1. I too received the same survey from radisson (I guess the same guy).I was pretty certain that I wont be getting anything in return, but I wanted to point out aweful condition of the bathroom, So I went ahead and filled the survey. To my surprise, I received a return mail which included my feedback and it promised they will fix the issue in room#123.
I guess club carlson IS READING the feedback! Getting few points would not have hurt though. 😉

  2. absolutely agree – i have been asked to fill out extremely long, tedious evaluations. don’t mind a short one but some of these are ridiculous. hilton is a particularly bad offender.

  3. Every single time I get an e-mail asking me to complete a survey to share my feedback after a hotel stay, I will respond to the e-mail (sometimes I have to look up the rewards customer service e-mail address) that without any sort of incentive to complete the survey I just don’t have the time. I figure after enough times doing this they might get the idea. I have done this a lot and never gotten a response.
