17 eUpgrades Air Canada to the reader who opened an ING Account using my Orange Key

The image shows an orange and white graphic with a key and keyhole design at the top. Below the graphic, there is text that reads: "Your Orange Key is... 17148482S1. Your friends have opened: 3 Accounts." The background is predominantly orange.

The campaign* has been very successful (three times what I had expected, in fact).

Apart from my wife – they do say to put money where your mouth is, right? – there was at least one reader (I posted on Facebook late so less likely to be a friend) who used my Orange Key. As a thank-you, I am going to offer her/him 17 Air Canada eUpgrades (last year I needed 17 to upgrade for a flight to Europe, and I might even offer more as I will not try to waste the eUpgrades on me on 3-4 hour flights if someone else can put them to better use). They are good until 29 February. ING will not tell me who it was, so perhaps s/he will comment on this post.
The image is a screenshot of an Air Canada webpage titled "eUpgrades." The page has a blue header with the Air Canada logo and three tabs: "Request an upgrade," "eUpgrade History," and "eUpgrades to Share." Below the header, there is a section titled "eUpgrades to Share" with text explaining that Air Canada Super Elite status members can request upgrades for eUpgrade Nominees. It also mentions that once a name is added to the list, it cannot be removed or replaced.*see my comments on my own posts (yes, I know it is pathetic but I could not bring myself to just write a post about the offer).

Of interest only for Canadian residents:
Easy $50 if you open an ING account using the Orange Key 17148482S1.
“From now until December 31st, when you open an ING DIRECT Account with $100 or more, we’ll start you off with a $50 Holiday Bonus*! That’s double the usual amount.”
More details here: http://www.ingdirect.ca/referafriend/
I like ING Direct that they don’t have any fees (that I know of and that I have paid so far) and the interest is quite good, 1.50% at the moment.
I don’t know how they manage but it is their business (I have lost money with the ING stock, but this is a different story).
I would have liked to write a post about the ING Direct offer but from whichever angle I looked at it there was no way I could relate it to travel (perhaps that the bonus could be used towards travelling , but that seems a bit of a stretch).
So I decided to ‘spam’ my own posts.
I will get $50 too (sorry about that).

  1. It was me! I guess the only way I can prove it is by sending you a screenshot of when my account was opened with the bonus. I can try getting in touch with ING if you’d like…if you email me I’ll get back to you.

    Thank you for the referral!
