‘The Flying Traveller’

This is a sculpture at the Vancouver International Airport; I have been running a few times to catch a flight but I hope I didn’t look like him :).

A sculpture of a man running with luggage is displayed in an airport terminal. The man appears to be in a hurry, with his body leaning forward and one leg extended behind him. He is holding a briefcase in one hand and has various bags and suitcases strapped to his back. The sculpture is mounted on a circular pedestal. The background shows the interior of the airport with seating areas and signs.

A sculpture of a man in mid-stride, appearing to be running or jumping, is displayed in an indoor setting. The man is holding a large suitcase in his mouth, and his facial expression looks exaggerated and comical. The sculpture is mounted on a circular platform, and the background shows an airport or similar public space with people and various structures.

The image shows a bilingual information plaque for a sculpture titled "The Flying Traveller" (English) and "Le Voyageur pressé" (French). The sculpture was created by Patrick Amiot and Brigitte Laurent in 1996 and is made of hand-painted cast fiberglass. It was donated by Jake and Judy Kerr. The English text describes the sculpture as capturing a harried moment in the life of every traveler, while the French text conveys a similar message. The plaque also includes the YVR logo, indicating the location of the sculpture.
