Fairmont Visa Signature Card, my 1st Credit Card post, no affiliate link

I did not think I would write such a post but this is a Credit Card I would sign up for.

It is the Fairmont Visa Signature Card: Alt text: A promotional advertisement for the Fairmont Visa Signature Card. The offer includes 2 complimentary nights with breakfast for 2 at any Fairmont destination worldwide after making $1,000 in purchases within the first three months of account opening. The offer is valid if applied by July 31, 2012, and includes free card benefits for the first year (a $95 value). The advertisement features an "Apply Now" button and notes that the offer is open to U.S. residents only. Tabs on the left side of the advertisement read "Yours to Enjoy," "Your Rewards," and "Your Benefits."

It is interesting that there is no fee for the first year plus there are other benefits too:The image is a promotional advertisement for the Fairmont Visa Signature Card. It highlights the benefits of the card, which include:

- Earning rewards with every purchase
- No foreign transaction fees
- An annual complimentary night for making $12,000 in purchases each anniversary year
- Access to VIP lounges worldwide

There is a button in the center that says "APPLY NOW." The text is presented on a background that resembles an open book, with tabs on the left side labeled "Yours to Enjoy," "Your Rewards," and "Your Benefits."

I wonder whether it is possible to apply, get the free nights then cancel the card without any penalties.

The Fairmont hotels in the world (click on the image to see the complete list):The image is a list of Fairmont Hotels and their locations around the world. The list is categorized by regions: Canada, United States, Mexico, Caribbean and Bermuda, Asia, Middle East and Africa, and Europe. Each region has a list of cities followed by the names of the Fairmont Hotels located in those cities. For example, under Canada, the city "Banff" has "The Fairmont Banff Springs" listed, and under the United States, the city "Boston" has "Fairmont Battery Wharf" listed.

  1. You wonder whether? Of course it is. But don’t. You should apply for another Chase card and transfer the credit from this one over first, or if you don’t get approved you should trade this one for the new one…

  2. How would you transfer 2 free nights at a Fairmont to another Chase card? When do you have to use the 2 free nights by?

  3. Usually it is 1 year from the day they were issued (i.e. the free night certificates).
