The Draw for the eUpgrades for Air Canada

The ING Direct  promotion I announced it here finished on Aug. 31 and 3 readers used my Orange Key. I said in the post ‘$50 from ING Direct and at least 17 Air Canada eUpgrade Credits from me’ and to be clearer I will give enough eUpgrades to cover an overnight flight, but not more than 30 ( this is the small print :)).

I used random.org and I allocated to each reader a number in the order they commented.

The page includes a header with navigation links such as "Home," "Games and Lotteries," "Numbers," "Lists & Strings," "Drawings," "Tournaments," "Web Tools," "Statistics," and "Testimonials." Below the header, there is a section titled "What's this fuss about true randomness?" which contains a paragraph explaining the concept of true randomness and how RANDOM.ORG generates random numbers. On the right side of the page, there is a "True Random Number Generator" tool with fields labeled "Min" and "Max" set to 1 and 3, respectively, and a "Generate" button. The generated number displayed is 2.

And to make the draw more ‘exciting’ I decided to generate the numbers in sets of three until a number would come up twice and that number would be the winner.

Number 2 has been generated twice so Chris is the winner.

P.S. ING Direct Canada has been bought by Bank of Nova Scotia so I don’t think we will see any more of these $50 bonuses.

  1. Woo Hoop!! Thanks Cynical Traveler. Just in time for me to fly back to Canada from Australia in a few weeks.

    Cheers,

This is such a quick comment :). How come you read the post so fast? Are you in Australia now? Whereabout?

I was checking Boarding Area on my lunch break and I guess I saw it just as you posted. And yes, I’m in Australia now, been here for about a week with another two to go. I’m doing some work in a town called Mt Isa in Queensland, but will be heading to Brisbane at the end of the week.

  4. You know it. But when you’re in the middle of the outback in a mining town, might as well work on a Sunday ๐Ÿ˜‰
