Win a Seat with Randy Petersen on Star MegaDO 4 and 17 Air Canada eUpgrades from me + easy Question :)

I am going to use ‘Rapid Travel Chai’ post that explains more about this contest (I think the readers already know what is all about).

Alt text: A promotional image for BoardingArea featuring a man with white hair and a beige suit sitting in an airplane seat. The text "Win a Seat with Randy Petersen" is displayed next to him. Below, there are three steps: "1. Visit the Blogs Below," "2. Answer a Question," and "3. Win a Seat with Randy." The top of the image includes the BoardingArea logo and social media icons for Facebook and Twitter.

However, I will just put here again ‘How to enter’ with the required adjustments.

Reply with a comment on this post in answer to the below Question no later than 11:59:59 pm MT October 7, 2012. One entry per person. Per person. Not per email address/IP address/etc. Attempts at multiple entries will be disqualified. Comments that are obviously SPAM or do not answer the Question will be disqualified up to the sole discretion of Skeptical Traveler.

The finalist will be selected at random by Skeptical Traveler and the result posted on Skeptical Traveler as an update to this post on October 8, 2012.

You must leave your legal given name and first letter of your surname as your name in the comment*.

You must leave a valid email address. Your email address will not be used by Skeptical Traveler for any purpose other than to give the finalist’s email address to BoardingArea for final drawing.

*This might be the best detterent against multiple entries by the same person as the award will not be given to someone whose legal given name and first letter of the surname of the entry don’t match what it will be in the airline ticket (remember the airline ticket needs the real name :)). Well done Rapid Travel Chai to have thought of this, simple and clever.

And if you are the Skeptical Traveler finalist but do not win the Star MegaDO 4 seat, I will give you 17 Air Canada eUpgrades or to a person of your choice (the Air Canada flight for which the eUpgrades could be used has to be before December 31, 2012).

Now the Question (very easy):

What blogs from BoardingArea do you read?

You could say ‘none’ – technically entering a comment to participate in this contest would not qualify as reading this blog or any other blog for that matter – but I don’t think Randy would like you to sit beside him (nothing in common to talk about :)) so I will not consider this entry.

Also, ‘all of them’ or variations of this will not be a valid entry. I know it would be easier to just write ‘all’ but come on, some effort :), there are contests that offer less for more to be done (liking on Facebook, tweeting, writing stories, spamming your friends so they would vote on your story, photo, video, audio, etc.).

If you read all of the blogs or most of them just mention a few, for example the ones you’ve read recently.

The winner has been announced here.

  1. I follow Boarding area on twitter and read all of the blogs whenever the subject matter seems interesting or useful to me.

  2. One Mile at a Time is the blog I read the most often in BoardingArea. I think his reviews of hotel and airline experiences have been very useful for me to plan my travels. I also like his recent engagement with other bloggers on valuing different hotel points. That provides readers for more information to form their opinion.

  3. I’ve read Gary’s VFTW for years. MommyPoints has good and thorough “how-to”s. There are a couple bloggers whose “blog mission” has never been apparent to me, and one or two who occasionally cross an ethical line I wouldn’t, but I read most all of them via the BoardingArea twitter links.

  4. The Wandering Aramean
    One Mile At A Time
    View From The Wing
    Mommy Points
    GhettoIFE
    Live From the Lounge

I do read other blogs as well depending on what catches my eye when I logon.

  5. I ready Mommy Points every day, and then VFTW, New Girl, and a few others if I have time. I try to look at them all at least once a week because I don’t want to miss anything!

  6. view from the wing and one mile at a time are my standbys. i’ll browse through others at my leisure.

  9. Wondering Aramean because I need to be humbled to realizing I know 1/20th of what he knows in the points world. And Frequent Miler: because it’s a spectacle of pondering, dreaming and connecting normally unrelated things to make points pile up in droves.
