Most luxurious hotel I’ve ever stayed at

They offer a courtesy Bentley car service within 5 km in the downtown area. The car was available and I thought of asking to drive to a McDonald’s drive in, but I didn’t :).

The bathroom was huge and initially I panicked that I didn’t see a WC, but it was enclosed. There was a stall shower with overhead ceiling tile shower head (4 tiles grouped together), I didn’t like it at all as I felt it was raining on me.
The image shows a modern bathroom with a glass-enclosed shower area. There is a white bathrobe hanging on the wall next to the shower. A white towel is draped over the shower door. The bathroom has a sink with a countertop and a mirror above it. The overall design is sleek and contemporary, with dark tiles and light-colored fixtures.

The image shows a ceiling-mounted square showerhead with water flowing from it. The showerhead is installed in a bathroom with dark tiles on the walls. A bright ceiling light is also visible near the showerhead.

The spare toilet roll !!!
The image shows an open white drawer with a black mesh bag inside. The drawer is part of a white piece of furniture, and the floor appears to be made of dark marble.
The scale didn’t work, and I am not so heavy :).The image shows a pair of feet wearing brown shoes standing on a digital scale. The display on the scale shows the letter "E". The background appears to be a dark-colored floor.

They even had a flashlight in the room (first time I have seen one in a hotel). It was Made in U.S.A.  (I would have bet it was from China), is this a sign of the revival of the American manufacturing industry? The image shows a yellow flashlight with black ends placed on a dark surface. The flashlight has the brand name "Eveready" printed on it. Surrounding the flashlight are various papers and documents, including a white sheet and a purple card. There is also a beige cloth partially visible in the bottom left corner.

The image shows an Energizer Industrial D-size battery. The battery has a label indicating it is 1.5V and is not for retail trade. The label also mentions that it is made in the USA for Energizer Holdings, Inc., St. Louis, MO 63141.

And the flashlight didn’t work; the batteries might have been discharged. I suppose no one bothered to check them.

“Please place this card on your pillow if you do not wish to have your sheets laundered today.” No, No! It should have been the other way around: “Please place this card on your pillow if you wish to have your sheets laundered today.” It needs to be very easy to save resources (i.e. clients should not do anything) and more difficult not to (i.e. clients have to make an extra effort; they need to take the card out and place it on the pillow). The image shows a sign from Verdes, a part of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, placed inside a clear plastic frame. The sign reads:

"In keeping with our vow to be noble stewards of nature, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts offers guests the opportunity to conserve our natural resources.

Please place this card on your pillow if you do not wish to have your sheets laundered today. Your bath towels can be placed in the tub for replacement or hung on the provided towel bar for use the following day.

We appreciate your contribution to conservation.

THANK YOU"

Nice touch, this clock.
The image shows a small, round, analog clock with a white face and black numbers. The clock has two hands, one for the hours and one for the minutes, and a smaller hand for the seconds. The clock is encased in a silver frame and is placed on a dark wooden surface. There is a reflection of the clock on the surface below it.

Unfortunately, I could not figure out how to make the Nespresso machine work. The image shows a coffee machine with a white ceramic mug placed under the dispenser. The machine appears to be in the process of brewing coffee, as there is a light-colored liquid in the mug. The coffee machine has a sleek, modern design with a metallic finish.

The place is Rosewood Hotel Georgia, Vancouver.

  1. You have some hideous shoes…troubling for someone who is staying in a nice hotel…guess you truly can’t buy class..

  2. GEOX sport shoes, true they have seen better days, but if GEOX heard you 🙂
I have dress shoes also, honestly, very nice. I take pride in my shoes and comfort is the first thing when choosing shoes.
However it bothers me that I buy leather shoes, so I will have to stop this, no more leather shoes.

I might write a post about ‘Blacksocks’ (you can order them online only) and my experience with them (including a $27 cashmere silk pair).
How is it travel related? One needs very comfortable socks when travelling.

From the movie “Small Time Crooks”

Tracey Ullman: What’s bothering me is we got no class.
Woody Allen: Speak for yourself. I was very charming tonight. I was killin’ them with jokes.
    ……..
I got more class in my little finger than they all got combined.

  3. Putting a card to change sheets might be off putting to some customers. I’m sure it would waste more resources (hotel staff time dealing with complaints) then saving – at least in a upper scale property.
