Millennium Hotel Minneapolis
During my recent trip to Minneapolis I stayed at the Millennium hotel. Initially I tried to find something cheaper or a Marriott/Radisson (I still have status and points). I think there were hotels cheaper than $146/night but I didn’t like them for one reason or another. Marriott/Radisson were more expensive and the points I would get did not seem to justify the price difference.
So Millennium hotel it was and I liked it, no complaints. However I had a complaint about the thermostat that I could not adjust. I managed once, I don’t know how but second time I could not. I went to the front desk, they said they could send someone, seemed too much trouble so I gave up. I wish I would have known about this post How to Override Your Hotel’s Thermostat Controls and Make it as Cool or Hot As You’d Like. One of the readers of this post asked in the comments whether “Wondering if there are any repercussions if they find out you did this after you checked out?” Initially I discounted this, what repercussions, but then I thought what if the thermostat breaks down, will you have to pay for it, is there somewhere in the small print not to ‘interfere’? I don’t think so but who knows.
Also, in order to get free Internet in the room I applied to become a Millennium club member or something like that. Initially I was reluctant, but I figured that my address and many other personal identification details are already out there in so many places so it would not make any difference other organization to have it as well.
I did not take any photos of the room, as it was like any other hotel room, but I took photos around the hotel.

The following promotion is only for Canadian residents.
If you use my Orange Key 17148482S1 to open an ING account you will get $50 (nice Christmas gift) and I will get $50 too (sorry about that). I suppose you open the account, and you will have an Orange Key also so your spouse can open an account too and you will get extra $50 and your spouse $50.
I have had an ING account for a few years now and I am not only saying because of the bonus but I really like it as I have not paid any fees whatsoever and I don’t have to be “stressed” to keep a minimum balance, because there is none to worry about otherwise you will be charged the “dreaded” monthly fee. Maybe it’s me but I don’t like paying fees. I don’t like them and that’s it. ING Canada has been bought by Scotiabank, so I don’t know how long this “free ride” will last for but I’ll worry again about the banking fees when it’s over.
Now when you refer friends and family to ING DIRECT, you will be doubly rewarded. Instead of $25, we’re giving $50* to you and $50 to your friend. This festive offer ends December 31st!
Get in the spirit of giving and get something wonderful back in return! Now when you refer friends and family to ING DIRECT using your Orange Key®, you will be doubly rewarded. For a limited time, instead of our usual $25 Bonus, we’re giving $50 to you and $50 to your friend.
Like the holiday season, this offer will be over before you know it. You have until December 31st to double up. Get your friends, family, colleagues, elves and all to sign up for ING DIRECT and open an Account with $100 or more to earn the $50 Bonus.
