And they have snacks in the galley
I have recently flown KLM from Vancouver to Amsterdam. It was my first long flight in economy class after a long time (no longer I have Air Canada status and eUpgrades) so I was tempted to upgrade to a Economy Comfort seat but I didn’t, and it was a good decision. The plane left Vancouver at 15:45, and I couldn’t sleep anyway. When I checked in online I chose an aisle seat of a 4 seat row that had the other aisle seat already occupied. I figured people will avoid these 2 middle seats and my assumption was correct. Both middle seats stayed empty.
However, during the flight I got quite hungry, in business class they keep feeding you, but economy not so much. Later a friend told me that they must have snacks in the galley and everyone can help himself.
So for the return flight I wanted to see whether it was true and yes, snacks were there, not a large variety but after all food, that would have come very handy during my outbound flight. Next time I will know this important piece of information; I suppose all airlines offer this free snacks.
And something unusual at Schiphol (Amsterdam), for the security check I had to take out the laptop charger as well not only the laptop (there was a sign requesting the laptop and charger to be taken out). It was my first time I had to do this.
